Abhijot Cheema earned a Bachelors’s of Physiotherapy degree in 2004 from H.N.B Garhwal University, India and where she gained experience as a physical therapist in a variety of settings. She has over 11 years of clinical experience working with a wide spectrum of clients, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. She has completed research work on muscles flexibility and Vertigo cause and treatments at H.N.B Garhwal University and Christian Medical College and Hospital in 2005. She has delivered physical therapy services across home health care and inpatient/outpatient health facilities.

Abhijot is a Certified Mulligan practitioner and is experienced in treating patients with chronic neck and back pain, chronic headaches, spinal disorders, and athletic injuries. She has continued expanding her knowledge and professional development by completing certification in Neurodevelopmental Techniques with pediatric patients. She has vast experience in treating Musculoskeletal pains, orthopedic, sports injuries, work-related injuries, and pre-and post-operative surgical conditions.

Abhijot has worked in private clinics for many years as well as in hospital settings. She strongly believes in empowering her patients through education and Individualized treatment plans. Abhijot is Fluent in English Punjabi and Hindi, to better serve patients requiring a physical therapist who speak these languages.

Her Interests include general fitness, and outdoor activities with friends and family.

Aryka graduated from Makami’s Massage Therapy program in 2020. Her journey into Massage Therapy stems from a deep-seated passion for helping others. She finds the intricacies of the human body fascinating and continually explores different modalities to gain diverse perspectives on improving quality of life. Aryka particularly enjoys working with clients who have experienced motor vehicle accidents, suffer from headaches/migraines, or live with acute and chronic pain.

She is dedicated to creating client-centered treatment plans that promote pain relief and enhance overall well-being, aiming for a pain-free lifestyle and improved body functionality.

Outside of her practice, Aryka enjoys exploring various cuisines, taking leisurely walks in the woods, and indulging in a good book.

Dr. Zakia Akodadi is originally from Morocco where she started her education at Hassan II University of Medicine and Pharmacy and obtained her Doctorate of General Medicine in (2005). Upon graduation she worked as doctor and head of a health center in Morocco from 2007 to 2015 where she performed medical consultation, epidemiological surveillance of certain infections or pathological conditions, pregnancy, and childbirth monitoring programs.

After moving to Canada in 2014, she decided to develop her skills and knowledge in treating patients by Combining both western and eastern medical approaches as it is often the optimal solution for recovering from several illnesses, so she decided to study acupuncture and Chinese medicine in MacEwan university in Edmonton, and she graduated in 2020. Aside from Acupuncture, Dr. Zakia incorporates different modalities in her Treatments while helping her patients including electro-acupuncture stimulation, dry and wet Cupping, Guasha, Tuina massage (Chinese massage), ear and Scalp acupuncture, Moxibustion.

In addition, Dr Zakia does Hijjama which is (“sucking”) or wet cupping therapy, where blood is drawn by vacuum from a small skin incision for therapeutic purposes and it is an ancient bloodletting technique utilised in many parts of the Middle East, China and Europe.

Also, Dr Zakia is interested in facial cosmetic acupuncture.

Her professional interest tends towards a large spectrum of ailments including Pain management, mental health, female health, digestion problems, injury problems and other illnesses like cancer treatment side effects, high blood pressure, bell palsy recovery.

Sarah is a graduate of Makami College’s 3000 Hour Advanced Clinical Massage Therapy program. She is trained in Thai, Swedish relaxation massage, deep tissue theraputic massage, myofascial release massage, prenatal massage, hot and Jade stones massage, cupping massage, sport massage, neuromuscular massage and orthopedic massage. Sarah’s massage therapy approach is client focused, based on each client’s expectations and individual needs. She believes that communication is key in developing the client-massage therapist relationship and recognizes that feelings of trust and safety are developed by getting to know one another.
